Credit Report Repair Company Shares Facts about Credit Card Industry

Lee Harrison Credit Restoration, recently named the top business and website in the credit report repair industry by Alexander Haig's World Business Review, has shared some of the little-known facts behind credit card interest rates with the public.According to Lee Harrison, Founder and President of Lee Harrison Credit Restoration, there is no such thing as "fixed rates" when it comes to credit cards."Basically, credit card companies can write their own rules," said Harrison.
"Credit card issuers can change their interest rates?even fixed rates?at any point, as long as they send cardholders advance written notice.
And if a cardholder makes just one late payment, the issuer can automatically increase their interest rate."According to Consumer Action's 2004 survey of credit card issuers, 31 percent of issuers will levy a penalty rate after one late payment, while more than 35 percent said that two late payments in a period of six months will trigger a penalty rate.
The average penalty rate for late payments:
22.9 percent."But paying your credit card bill on time still isn't enough," said Harrison. "Nearly half of all credit card issuers have a universal default policy, and they don't all disclose this in the fine print.

What this universal default policy means is that paying your mortgage late could trigger a penalty rate on your credit card."
Credit cards can cause a decline in over 30 percent of a person's overall credit score.
Lee Harrison Credit Restoration offers credit report repair services to individuals who find "slow pays" or other inaccurate files on their credit report, and will continue to keep their credit reports in good order for life.About Lee Harrison Credit RestorationLee Harrison Credit Restoration is a fully licensed, registered, and bonded credit service organization located in Naples, Texas. Holiday Spending and Credit Report Scores

(ContentDesk) November 23, 2005 -- It is unwise to attempt to ruin anybodys magnanimous spirit with the approach of the holidays. This is the time for giving and exchanging of gifts, and what an immense feeling of contentment that is derived knowing that gifts have gone to help somebody in need! Unfortunately, too, this is the time of the year to be most fearful of. Consumers over-stretch their budgets, max out their credit cards and some even over-spend their credit limits with disastrous consequences on their credit report scores. Others have their identities stolen and they dont realize it until it is too late.Everywhere, consumers are encouraged to throw caution to the winds and are lured into spending like there is no tomorrow. Even the press gets in on it with daily analysis of whether or not this is going to be a bumper harvest for retailers and, for that reason, an indicator of consumer confidence and of a strong economy.

Spending wisely and frugally at all times is...

What is a Credit Report?

Ever wondered what is a credit report? If you've ever applied for a credit card, a personal loan, or insurance, there's a file about you. This file is known as your credit report. It is full of information on where you live, how you pay your bills, and whether you've been sued, arrested, or filed for bankruptcy. Consumer reporting companies sell the information in your report to creditors, insurers, employers, and other businesses with a legitimate need for it. They use the information to evaluate your applications for credit, insurance, employment, or a lease.

Having a good credit report means it will be easier for you to get loans and lower interest rates. Lower interest rates usually translate into smaller monthly payments. Nevertheless, newspapers and the Internet are filled with ads for companies and services that promise to erase accurate negative information in your credit report in exchange for a fee. The scam artists who run these ads not only don't deliver - they can't...
